While most athletes, run. Jump swim and play, the competitive and elite skydivers of IFly Loudoun fly for their sport!
Competitions take place in powerful wind tunnels. Therefore, the skydivers are experiencing the same force as jumping out of a plane.
Skydiving competitions are called Boogies.
One of IFly’s members, Ernie Torres, has a world record. He dived out of plane and broke 12 pine boards (karate style) before touching the ground.
Why Lock Laces®: Lock Laces® are worn by skydivers because they do not come untied in extreme winds. When laces come untied in the air, they whip the diver leaving an annoying sting.
