LIFE IN TAYLOR'S LACES

When did you start wearing Lock Laces® and how did you learn about them?

  • I started wearing Lock Laces® when a friend gifted me a pair of pink laces before a race last year.

What is your largest goal for this season and for your career?

  • My main goal for this season is to finish in the top 8 of the World Triathlon Series this year, and long term to make the Team USA Olympic Team in 2020.

What does Win. Never Tie.® mean to you? (What does is it mean to succeed, win, reach your goals)?

  • I find it satisfying when hard work pays off. For me that's on race day. Making the podium, and taking the tape, is what I strive to for every day and in every workout. The saying 'Win. Never Tie.®' parallels the successes I've had on race day, when everything came together and I showcased my best self. That to me is winning.

What is something most people might not know about you?

  • During my summers in college, I worked as an Ocean Lifeguard. Just like Baywatch, but more tough and gritty!

What is one of Taylor's core values?

  • If you work hard enough, you can constantly improve. That's what I love about triathlon, there is always room to be a better version of yourself.

Favorite quote?

  • "Nothing worthwhile is ever easy."

Any hidden talents?

  • I am very crafty. As a former student of Architecture, I'm innovative when it comes to creating things and working with my hands. Usually, it's hard to tap into this on the road and living out of a suitcase, but lately I've been making unique cards and sketching.
